Among the three labels of MOMOTARO JEANS, "STANDARD" stands out as a versatile and neutral choice—one that seamlessly complements a wide range of styles, transcending generations and individual preferences.

At first glance, it may appear simple, but it is distinctly different from the conventional. It strikes a refined balance, offering both the pleasure of denim’s evolving fades and the sophistication of meticulous craftsmanship, where traditional details are seamlessly blended with unique innovations.

Rooted in denim’s rich history, MOMOTARO JEANS has continually refined its craft, adapting to the present while setting a new benchmark for contemporary denim.

The design follows the authentic five-pocket style, crafted from selvage denim woven on vintage shuttle looms using MOMOTARO JEANS' exclusive formula.

Despite its heavyweight fabric, a singeing process softens its ruggedness, giving it a refined, contemporary appearance with a sense of cleanliness.

The deep richness of "TOKUNO BLUE," a defining feature of MOMOTARO JEANS, is especially pronounced in this series—see the Fabric section for details.

The lineup includes four silhouettes: Straight, Tapered, Slim, and Wide. Each silhouette is available with either a zip fly or a button fly, offering options to suit different preferences.

While the "STANDARD" series modernizes classic details, its most distinctive feature is the waistband interlinig on the inner waistband.

Typically found in tailored garments like slacks and suits, this refined detail is rarely seen in casual jeans. However, MOMOTARO JEANS has intentionally incorporated it, not only for its visually polished finish but also for its enhanced comfort—reducing friction around the waist compared to standard five-pocket jeans.

Structurally, adding a waistband curtain to five-pocket denim is a complex challenge. To achieve this, MOMOTARO JEANS collaborated with sewing specialists to develop a dedicated jig, known as "Rappa," making this unique construction possible.

More than just a comfort-enhancing feature, the waistband interlinig represents MOMOTARO JEANS' dedication to craftspersonship and the ingenuity of our artisans.

Another key advantage of the waistband interlinig is its ability to significantly reduce color transfer when tucking in tops. Even with raw denim, it allows for effortless styling with light-colored shirts and T-shirts.

Before being cut and sewn, the denim fabric awaits its transformation.
In the "STANDARD" series, each stage of sewing is meticulously carried out by skilled artisans, with specialists handling each step of the process.

The original fabric used in the "STANDARD" series is a robust and substantial 14.7-ounce denim. By increasing the density of the warp threads, the surface achieves a richer blue, further enhancing the signature "特濃-TOKUNO BLUE" depth that defines MOMOTARO JEANS. 

This construction allows for a deep, striking appearance from the first wear, while also ensuring a sharp and well-defined aging process over time. Additionally, the weft threads are finer than usual and undergo a special treatment to minimize shrinkage after washing.

To fully showcase the color and texture of this premium denim, the jeans are designed with a timeless, minimal aesthetic, free from unnecessary details. True to the "STANDARD" name, this series offers a pure expression of MOMOTARO JEANS' craftspersonship and identity.

For the best fit, we recommend choosing your true size in the raw state—ensuring that, even after repeated washes, the jeans will maintain their ideal fit for years to come.

The rivets used in the "STANDARD" series are uniquely designed, featuring the new MOMOTARO JEANS logo engraved on the back.

While they maintain a traditional punched-through construction, the protrusions are carefully flattened, minimizing the risk of snagging on clothing or causing damage to chairs, hands, or other surfaces.

The muted silver finish of the rivets lends a clean, understated look to the denim. The coin pocket is designed slightly larger, enhancing storage capacity while ensuring easy access.

Hidden rivets are discreetly placed on the back of the hip pockets, reinforcing durability while maintaining a seamless appearance.

The signature leather patch is dyed in a deep indigo blue, harmonizing with the denim for a refined, understated look. 

Made from cowhide leather, the logo is embossed in a minimalist design, reducing contrast against the fabric. This ensures a clean and sophisticated appearance, even when tucked in. 

Like the denim itself, the patch will develop a rich patina over time, adding to its unique character with wear.
